Verifying a wallet is an essential process in the world of digital tokens. It ensures the security and legitimacy of transactions while complying with regulations and internal policies. In this article, we'll explore the necessary steps for wallet verification from both the issuer and investor perspectives.
Step 1: Creation of an Investor
The issuer creates an investor-type user via CSV file import. This file contains necessary information such as investor type, email addresses, nationality and other relevant data. Upon this import, the created investor automatically gets whitelisted for the specific associated token.
Step 2: The investor creates an account
Subsequently, the investor has to create an account in the Investor Portal with the same email added previously by the Issuer. It is an important step so that the investor saves their password and fills all the relevant data.
Step 3: Investor Login Attempt
Afterwards, the investor attempts to log in to their account. Upon the first access, the investor portal recognizes that it's the initial connection and activates a verification process.
Step 4: Wallet Verification
At this point, the investor portal will prompt the user to confirm that the linked wallet via CSV is correct. The user is required to connect and verify their wallet address by signing a Proof of Ownership of the wallet. This process ensures the user has control over the associated wallet, reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
